Survivor Pride promotes the belief that each survivor should be proud to be part of a group that has inherent within their character, sterling qualities which enables them to fight against adversities, injustice and social disorder to rise in life to be part of a group who, collectively and as individuals, greatly contribute to the pursuit of truth and justice in the World.
The organization wanted to trasmit the idea of a survivor as a strong and willing human and avoid stigmatization so we decided to go with a powerful image of a Phoenix bird.
The Phoenix bird is mentioned in almost every religion of the world. It is a concept of survivance as it dies in order to reborn with all its glory from its own ashes.
The bird was also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being almost immortal and invincible. In acient Egypt the Phoenix had the gift of having healing tears.
